This is Tempeh, or tempe in Javanese, is made by natural and controlled fermentation process that binds soybeans into a cake form. It is especially popular on the island of Java, where it is a staple source of protein. The tempeh was stir fried with some sweet sauce, which was quite appetizing.

    One of my favourite Malay Food stall. In the photo, I think you tried the Ikan Terubuk or Ikan Sumbat? Lydiana is know for their Ikan Terubuk which has many bones!

    This is good Malay good. Not many around. I enjoyed the authentic spices and herbs.

    pixen: i dont know what is the name in malay, but i know that in cantonese - "Ngang Mei" fish...usually you can get this kind of sambal stuff fish from economy rice stall.

    worldwindows: agreed, their cooking is not oily at all.
